What is DNS?


DNS or Domain Name System, is a service where links between IP addresses and domains are stored. When you ask your browser, email client, ftp client, or any other application to call a certain domain, it automatically ascends to the configured DNS server and finds its IP address of the machine that provides the requested service, It becomes possible to use certain services using names as opposed to IP addresses.
